Altitude Counseling Collective

Altitude Counseling Collective is located in Salt Lake City, Utah and was founded by owner and clinical director, Justin Clark, LCSW, MBA.  Justin has worked in the social work field for 13 years and has spent 10 of those years practicing as a therapist serving various populations and helping others learn and grow from a variety of mental health challenges and overcoming difficult life situations.

Justin prides himself in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for others to be able to share and explore themselves and their unique life situations. He is able to build rapport with others from all types of different lifestyles, backgrounds, cultures, orientations, and faiths. He offers a non-judgmental and compassionate approach to others as he helps to guide them through life’s challenges by building a healthy and trusting therapeutic relationship. Therapy is not about having answers given to you, rather it is about having someone with the willingness, empathy, and experience who can understand your needs, how you feel, help you understand your past, and work with you on a way to move forward by learning and growing from the challenges you have faced based on what you need.

Regardless of what we have been through or the mistakes we have made, we can learn, change, and grow. No one is meant to do it on their own and often times the difficult situations we face in life provide us with opportunities to learn more about ourselves and grow into the person we were meant to become, so that we can be happier with ourselves and in our relationships. Choosing to engage in therapy requires courage and vulnerability. Although vulnerability can be uncomfortable and something we tend to avoid, it is the birthplace of becoming our authentic selves.

When Justin is not helping others, he likes to spend his time being active outside or in the gym, playing with his 2 rescue pups, snowboarding, attending concerts, going on road trips, and spending time with family and friends. He is a Utah native and graduated from Weber State University with a bachelor’s in Social Work, a master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University, and a master’s in Business Administration from Western Governor’s University. He has provided individual and group therapy in residential treatment for adolescents, outpatient therapy for underserved and at-risk adults, the Utah State Prison, a hospital psychiatric unit, an outpatient substance use disorder program for adults, and also provides supervision and training for other clinicians.
